the rules ,
follow them like your life depends on it
in general ,
01,Literacy is stressed at Absconditum. This is a literate roleplay, so we expect you to write like such. This means no chatspeak (in roleplay at least). We have a minimum word count of 150 words, which means that each roleplay post you make must be at least 150 words. Feel free to go over this limit though - just remember not to show off.02,This is a PG-13 site, so keep posts... well, PG-13. Before you say or post something, think: Would I hear or see something like this in a PG-13 movie? If the answer is yes, go ahead and post it. If the answer is no or maybe, just don't post it, alright? Please do no post pornographic content, extreme gore, racist, sexist, or otherwise inappropriate content. Mild cursing is fine, but please keep f-bombs to yourselves.03,Respect others and don't cause drama. Yes, this means all others, even people you might not necessarily like. Show some courtesy to others and respect their beliefs and opinions. This also includes listening to and obeying staff members. Drama - at least the out of character variant - is just annoying. Don't start it please.04,Don't spam. Rather easily understood, yes? This includes making several posts to bump your own topic. The only place advertising is allowed is in the appropriate, aptly named section.05,This is a one account per person site. You can have as many characters as you want on your single account as long as you show each of them an equal amount of attention. You can always put neglected characters up for adoption in The Pound board.06,Please be active. This should be the simplest rule, right? Please at least come on every once in a while to let us know you aren't dead. New accounts that haven't made a single post in two weeks will be deleted to prevent spam accounts.07,Avatars should be 200x200 pixels. Anything smaller will look strange in the mini-profile! Signature images may be no taller than 300 pixels; images that break this rule will be removed by a staff member. This is to avoid stretching the forum too much. Remember to credit the sites where you found your images.
your character ,
08,Stay far, far away from Mary-Sues and Gary-Sues. You know, characters that are gorgeous and perfect with perfectly tragic back stories and what not. Not sure if your character qualifies as a Mary-Sue (if you're not sure, he/she probably is), check out the Universal Mary Sue Litmus Test.09,Aside from the flesh-eating zombies, Absconditum is a realistic roleplay. Sorry, your character cannot have wings, jewelry, or pink and green fur. Be realistic when designing a cat's personality. Also, Clan cats must have appropriate names for Clan cats. Loners must have appropriate names for loners. There can be exceptions to this, but unless you have a very good reason for having a warrior cat named Fluffy, you'll be asked to change it.10,Characters must be cats. They can be different breeds as long as it's plausible.11,You must use the given template when creating your character, or he/she will not be accepted.12,The cats in GladeClan and on the island are completely isolated from the canon events of the Warriors series. That means your cat does not know about ThunderClan, ShadowClan, WindClan, and RiverClan. That also means that your cat cannot be related to or descended from any of the characters from the books.
when roleplaying ,
13,Write roleplay posts in third-person, past tense. This is rather standard for roleplays. If you don't know what this is, you probably should have paid more attention in your literature classes. Your character application must also be in third-person, past tense.14,150 words minimum in roleplay posts. Hm, did I already say that? That's 'cause it's important!15,Your character can be in up to three threads at once. That's right, we run liquid time here. This way, if another user is slow on replying to a certain thread, you can still roleplay on others. However, use some of your common sense and don't join two threads that are in the exact same place at the exact same time if you can help it.16,No godmodding, powerplaying, spotlighting... or anything other kind of annoying thing. If you don't know what these are, the internet is your friend.17,Title threads appropriate and mark them as either 'OPEN' or 'CLOSED' or 'FINISHED'. The title of the thread should have to do with what it is about. If the thread is open for all members to join, put open. If not, closed. If the thread is finished, mark it as that so a staff member can move it to an appropriate place.
